#63 The Preferences & Taboos of Gift-giving in China (Hybrid)
Chinese people highly value the exchange of gifts in interpersonal relationships. Do you know which gifts are appropriate for Chinese people, and which ones are best avoided? We will explore the preferences and taboos of gift-giving in China, providing some references for your gift list.

Appetizer (30 mins) - Introduction to New Words & Phrases
We will understand what gifts are more appropriate to give during festivals, birthdays, and when visiting someone's home. We will also learn about some taboos regarding gift-giving in China and explore the reasons behind them.
Main Course (30 mins) - Now, Let's Practice
Eeach participant will use drawing lots to select an occasion, and based on the characteristics of the occasion, you need to choose a gift suitable for Chinese people and explain the reasons. For example, you may draw "Prepare a Chinese New Year gift for your best Chinese friend." Each participant will have time to prepare and share with everyone.
Dessert (30 mins) - Open Discussions
Due to different cultural customs, each country has different preferences and taboos when it comes to gift-giving. In the discussion session, each participant can share with everyone what gifts are appropriate and which ones are best not to give in their own culture.
